The 469nm Sydney to Mooloolaba race will start at the traditional time of 1pm on Wednesday April 9th 2014 & is open to eligible monohulls and multihulls.
The inaugural Sydney to Mooloolaba Yacht Race was actually called the Sydney to Brisbane race and was first run in 1964 by Middle Harbour Yacht Club, the finish moving to Mooloolaba in 1973.
The iconic feeder to the Brisbane to Gladstone race went to another organising authority and was eventually removed from the bluewater calendar in the mid 2000s.
Close to a decade later it's back thanks to a re-established partnership between MHYC and Mooloolaba Yacht Club and the vision of well-known big boat and multihull sailor Sean Langman.
The first race will start at 1pm on Wednesday April 9th from Sydney Harbour.
